This morning 6 seals were released back into the ocean at Miscuamicut State Beach in Rhode Island after being rehabilitated by the crew at Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut. All of the seals had come into care after being severely injured by plastic pollution. It was great to see them go back to their natural habitat.It takes over $10k to fully rehabilitate each seal and $5k for each monitoring device to ensure their safety. With recently cut funds, this organization encourages donations to keep this and other initiatives going. Like many other places, public school budgets are voted on by the entire town population to decide where the limited resources will go. This is always controversial because it is hard to always understand where everyone is coming from. The towns taxes are very high, and for those that do not have children, I totally understand the opposition to keep arts and music budgets alive. This is a video of Mr. Abraham - the music teacher at Calvin Leete Elementary School in #guilfordct. While some people focus on their immediate wants of having a great restaurant or bar to go to after work, men like Mr. Abraham spend time trying to influence people in a better direction. The chorus of “Choose Love”, a song he wrote with the students during the Covid lock down, is performed every year at the spring school concerts. It’s chorus is:“We’ll make a difference, I want you to knowOur actions are powerful, so…We choose love.”I’m not sure if every one of these kids will turn out to be more accepting of others than any generation before, but it’s worth our best effort. Thank you Mr. Abraham, and arts and music teachers everywhere that provide positive influence to better our future. Life under the #harlem line is a different world to most - yet still a home to many. The The Apollo Theatre AC has hosted many great performers like Billy Holiday and James Brown (I was fortunate to see him once and he was nuts in a great way). A person growing up here sees the world and opportunity very differently than some who have had more #privilege - but their individual lives are no less important. Maisy’s the best! She was arescue that was afraid of everything. Step by step and five years later she is a free spirit, very approachable, and comes when called. I’ve found that successful pet ownership comes down to two things:1 understanding that they have just as many emotions as humans2 understanding that they still have a ton of primal energy and driveLimiting a dogs ability to run or sniff out stuff is like taking away your human instinct to partake in sports or social outings. They have 4 feet on the ground instead of our two - of course they want to use them! Treat your pet with the respect you would treat yourself and I swear it works #petownership #doglover #respectanimals

I was too young when I first heard phrases like ‘bad blood’ in reference to my existence. That I had undoubtedly inherited generations of ‘defective blood’ and my fate would be in a straight jacket unless god would have mercy on my soul.

I was put on ungodly amounts of sedatives at a young age.

I kept putting myself in environments where I thought souls like me deserved to be - dragged through the dirt.

To come to a climactic peak in act 1 of my life - I suffered two strokes (in my head) at age 33.

At the time my body was shutting down to the unnecessary medications. I was suffering from liver damage, thyroid disease, and diabetes - in hindsight all caused by these medicines.

After spending an infinite amount of time in what I call ‘the void’ and returning to my body, not once but twice, to land on hands and knees puking every once of me out my throat.

I had never felt anything better.

To feel again.

I weened myself off these medications suffering horrendous withdrawal for years.

After working for the last 8 years on myself, today my body is in ‘perfect health’ according to doctors. The medications caused the other diseases. They all cleared up.

Despite these obstacles I persevere and present the world with the behavior I know how - unending compassion.

I have two wonderful sons and have lived an unbelievable rollercoaster of a life meeting so many great people.

I coach, mentor, and befriend anyone willing to give me the time.

Do not let others tell you who you are and what you can and can’t achieve. You have the power to overcome anything and everything - we all do.

Make RESPECT great again.

Modern society has seeped fear into every facet of our daily lives.

Not just in the toxic headlines of every major mass media news outlet, but in all sports, movies, and gameshows creating mass dependance on sudden miracles and saviors.

The way society has shaped itself has furthered isolation - cementing our personal viewpoints, disconnecting us from other perspectives, thus creating more hate towards anyone who thinks differently.

The bleeding has to stop.

While every individual exhibits various stereotypical behavioral traits, no one should be judged, or defined, by just one of these - especially prior to meeting.

We've been wrong. It's ok.

RESPECT your friends.

RESPECT your family.

RESPECT complete strangers.

We are all in the same rat race to no end, so you might as well lift your head and say 'Hi'.
